First Trimester Favorites

Now that we're heading into the last part of the First Trimester I wanted to share a few of things I couldn't live without - some for comfort, some out of necessity! If you're about to embark on your First Trimester journey I'd say these are definitely must-haves!
  • Bun Maternity Cozy Nursing Hoodie - Ok, so you probably don't look it yet (just keepin' it real), but you're definitely feeling all the changes happening inside. I've raved about this hoodie before, and part of why I love it is because you can use it from your first trimester well through your postpartum breastfeeding journey. It's perfect for lounging, napping (you'll feel like doing a lot of this, trust me), and going out. It's got just the right amount of stretch to accommodate your growing belly while still maintaining good shape. Right now you can actually score an extra 15% off by using promo code SWEET15

  • Nurture - I purchased this book at the start of this pregnancy, and the first thing I thought was, "I wish I had this with my other two." There's no need to devour it in one sitting, although you might want too. I actually would highly recommend reading this book in sections as you hit each pregnancy milestone. It's written in plain, relatable mama-language, and it covers all of the need-to-knows regarding pregnancy, birth, and your journey into the world of motherhood. If you're a doula family of mine in the future this will definitely be a recommended read.

  • Isabel Maternity - If you're first trimester is anything like mine, your regular jeans are probably getting a little snug and uncomfortable. You probably don't have a baby bump yet, but the bloat bump is a close second. Amiright? These are great option for this stage in pregnancy where you're not quite needing full-panel maternity jeans but your regular pants just aren't cutting it anymore. Biggest plus, they won't break the bank. Mama Sol tip - create a Target Baby registry online and pick up your free Target Baby gift bag in-store by showing proof of your registry. The gift bag comes with some great samples, including a coupon for a discount on any Isabel Maternity clothing item.

  • Pellegrino - Whether you're having trouble with nausea or missing some your favorite bubbly drinks, this is a great option to keep in your diaper or handbag. Biggest plus, it seems to go down a lot easier than other drinks if you've got morning sickness and it's not full of tons of sugar like other sparkling beverages.

  • Up&up Prenatal - This is a great budget friendly prenatal you can find on the shelves are your local Target. Since there are tons of options for prenatals some important things to look for are: Folic acid (synthetic form of Folate or vitamin B9), essential fatty acids like DHA and Omega-3s, and vitamin D. If you're like me and vitamins tend to amp up the nausea you can try taking your supplements before bed or reducing the number of supplements you're taking until the queasiness passes. Of course, always check with your healthcare provider before adding new supplements to the mix or for a recommendation on the proper dosage.

  • Sparkling Mama Fizzelixir - Will this eliminate your morning sickness 100%? Probably not, but it does help! And fast! I've used it myself with this pregnancy. It comes in handy pre-portioned packets you can keep in your diaper or doula bag or at home, and use as you need. Contains vitamin B6 and magnesium to help combat those morning sickness symptoms and it's caffeine, additive, and dye free.

  • Preggie Pops - Another quick fix for nausea that I keep in my diaper and doula bag because they work great for short term relief. These would also be a great option if you're looking for a natural remedy for morning sickness or as an addition to medication prescribed by your healthcare provider.
