Mama Sol Tip Mondays - Mama Must-have Bun Maternity
Mama Sol Tip Mondays are back, and since it's Cyber Monday, I wanted to share a brand that's a favorite of mine this week - Bun Maternity! Who also happens to be offering 35% off their amazing collection of breastfeeding friendly clothes!
If you follow along on Instagram you might have noticed that I'm huge advocate of breastfeeding and an even bigger supporter of the movement to normalize breastfeeding in public.
My own breastfeeding journey began almost four years ago when we brought home our first little boy at 36 weeks. Breastfeeding is amazing, some of my most cherished memories with my boys are memories I have thanks to nursing, but it's also not always a walk in the park (I'm looking at you, two week growth spurt!). Even though I was a newly minted Mama, it didn't take long to figure out that finding comfortable clothing to nurse in was almost as important as learning the in's and out's of breastfeeding like getting a good latch, learning baby's cues, and feeding on demand.
And, let's be real, whether you're a new mom of one, two, or three, getting out of the house those first few times can sometimes make you feel like you're running a circus, the last thing you want to worry about is fussing with multiple tee shirts or stretching your collar wide enough to nurse a tiny a human you're just getting to know.
I actually heard about Bun Maternity from a veteran mama friend a few years ago, and after striking out with several other brands of nursing tees, I decided to give them a try. Best decision EVER! My first purchase was their softie nursing tee in grey, and it became a staple in my wardrobe instantly. I didn't have to stretch out the collar or layer tops to nurse in public, and I really loved that it looked and felt like some of my favorite non-maternity, vintage tee shirts. It gave me the best of worlds - it was breastfeeding friendly AND I got to feel like I was wearing normal clothes again (you know when your postpartum and dying to be out maternity clothes, but not quite ready for your pre-baby wardrobe yet).
Another must-have for your postpartum wardrobe - their black nursing hoodie! Seriously, we don't get cool weather often here in So Cal, but when we do, it's pretty much a sure bet I'll be wearing this. I'm a hoodie lover to begin with, but something about being able to look vaguely put-together when you're running on minimal sleep, lots of coffee and wearing a newborn really pulls at my heart strings! ha! And just like their nursing tee, you won't have to retire this gem once you're done breastfeeding because it's stylish enough to fit right in with the rest of your everyday clothing. I actually just weaned my almost two year old, and I'm still rocking my Bun hoodie. In fact, I may or may not be wearing it as I type.
